What do I need to do to shop online for a book?

The first thing you will need to do is find the book that you want to buy.

How do I find the book I want to buy?

You will need to search or browse for the book.

How do I search for a book?

The Search Box runs across all the pages of the bookstore left hand top corner. It has a drop down menu and a tab where you can type.

Choose the store you want to search in – in this case,books. Then you can choose one of the following option s in the second drop down menu:

1. ISBN –Searches by the 10/13 digit unique number present on the bottom right corner of the back cover of a book.
2. Title – Searches by the name of the book. If you do not know the complete name of the book, you can type any part of the name of the book. For example, if you type Cuckoo all the books with Cuckoo as a part of its name will be displayed.
3. Author – Searches by the author name. For example, if you type Kesey, all books whose authors have a Kesey as a part of their name will be displayed.

Choose any one of the options from the drop down menu and key in the text and click go.

For example:

If you want to buy One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, select title in the drop down menu. Type one flew over the cuckoo’s nest and click go. The search result will display all the books that are most relevant to the above search.

Is the search case sensitive?

The search is not case sensitive.

How do I browse for a book? What is the Browse Category listed in the left hand side of the bookstore?

There is a listing of all the categories of books on the left hand side of the bookstore under the heading Browse Category.

The categories have a 3 tier structure with each main category have sub categories that are most relevant.

For example, ‘Business and Economics’ has ‘Human Resources’ as a sub category and ‘Human Resources’ has 17 sub categories. Books are categorized into the most relevant category. If you are looking for books of a certain subject, you can browse through the categories and find a book that is relevant to your needs.

Once I have found the book I am looking for, how do I place an order?

Please follow the following steps:

1. Signin
2. Add the Item to your shopping cart (step 1 and 2 can be reversed)
3. Review your purchase
4. Checkout and complete your shopping.

The above steps are explained in detail

1. Enter your indiaplaza.in user name and password to signin. The signin box is present on the left hand side of almost all the pages on the bookstore. You will need to signin so that you do not have to repeat you address details each time you need to buy something on Manoramaemart. If you do not already have a user name and password, you will need to register by giving a few details.
2. Add the Item to the Shopping Cart. You can add as many items you require from any of our stores to your shopping cart.
3. Once you have added all the items you require, please click on ‘View Shopping Cart’ to review your purchase. You can buy multiple quantities of the same item by changing the quantity in the shopping cart. If you have done any changes in the ‘Shopping Cart’ please click on update.
4. Once you have reviewed your purchase, you can click to complete your order. You can click on the ‘Express Checkout’ in case you want us to use your default shipping address and payment option. The normal check out will enable you to change the shipping address and payment option if you so desire.

Why are there multiple listings of the same book?

Most books are printed multiple formats. A book may be printed with a large font, a small font or an ‘A’ format. The books may also come in hard cover, paperback, trade paper back, cloth binding or in any other special formats. The price and the ISBN (the 10 digit unique identifier of the book) may differ with each type of binding and text format. Hence you see multiple listing of the book.

In case there are multiple listings of the book I am looking for, which book do I choose?

Which book you may choose depends on your preference. All books have a discounted pricing. In case, price is a factor, please choose the lowest priced book. In case you are gifting the book or want to keep a copy on your shelf, we recommend you buy the Hardcover.

Why the different shipping durations?

The book with 3 day shipping duration is typically an Indian edition and normally comes in the sub-continent Low Priced Edition.

The book with 29 days and higher shipping duration is the international edition that we import for you from our distributors in the USA and are normally priced at the original international price. We do not charge any import/ customs duty for books, as these are not applicable for books.

Are all the books shown as available in stock with Indiaplaza?

Indiaplaza ships 98% of the orders that are placed. You can safely go ahead and place an order if the book is available on the website without any requirement to check with the customer service.

For the 2% of the orders that we cancel due to non-availability, we cancel the order and refund the amount paid by you.

What do you mean by normally ships in 3 working days/16 working days?

We will ship the book to you normally within 3/16 days of realizing your payment.
